The Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce has hosted the Christmas Day Dinner for the last 25 years. This event has helped many families over the years with having a hot meal on Christmas Day. We have had the most wonderful volunteers who have been giving of their holiday and time to help make this event possible.  The founder of the Christmas Day Dinner was Chamber member Dr. Sucharski and his family. The Sucharski family has dedicated every Christmas to this event and the families in the Jefferson County area for the last 25 years. The event has had numerous volunteers year after year who have made this a family tradition and given of their time and talents to help our greater Jefferson County community.

The Chamber Board has put much thought into the event and how to move forward in a way to best serve families in need in our community.  Over the last few years we have been serving less people as they are able to find other resources in the community from local churches, organizations and food pantries that offer support during the holidays. The expansion of resources in the community is a very positive thing for those needing support.

After much thought and discussion the Hillsboro Chamber Board has made the tough decision to end the Annual Christmas Day Dinner.  The Chamber will have a list of resources available to be able to provide to community members who may be in need and will gladly promote the wonderful programs in our area available during the holidays.

We would encourage chamber members and volunteers to support our local Hillsboro food pantry and other local charity efforts to help families in need this holiday season.  If you are aware of an effort you would like us to promote please send the information to the chamber email at

We want to thank the many volunteers and sponsors of the Christmas Day Dinner over the last 25 years that have helped us serve over 5,000 meals. Without the support of our wonderful community and businesses this event would not have been possible.  We are pleased we were given the opportunity to help many individuals and families for the last 25 years and we look forward to how we can continue to serve our community moving forward.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Chamber at 636-789-4920.  We encourage you to support one of the great charity efforts that are occurring in our community this holiday season to make Christmas a little brighter for a Jefferson county resident.

Thank you,
